Alana

Alana is the co-founder of KO Yoga and leads the nonprofit’s marketing and communications efforts. She is a yoga, Pilates, and myofascial release instructor who teaches throughout Kitchener-Waterloo while also working at the University of Waterloo.

In her classes, Alana wants you to feel joy. Joy in your body. A sense of pride for what you’ve achieved, whether that’s rest or work. A feeling of belonging as part of a larger community.

She offers many pose variations so you can find the version of movement that feels right in your body that day. Guided meditations, incorporating yoga philosophy, and honouring the history of movement practices are also priorities. 

When she’s not taking or teaching classes, you can find Alana reading, writing, or on in the woods. She loves to canoe, take pictures of the stars, and cuddle with her cat and a good book.
